I am still trying to research our Mac Dougall family, the census has helped considerably but after the 1901 census they all just disappeared and none appear in the 1911 census. Parents were Robert and Margaret Mac Dougall, Robert being a harness maker in Omagh. I am particularly interested in trying to trace their son Donald Mac Dougall born around 1891 in Omagh, his sister Laura Mac Dougall born around 1890 also in Omagh. Other missing children include William birth date unknown, Robert born 1972, Eliza born 1868. regards Karen

Hi Colla thanks for the information you sent, it's interesting, sorry about those distant relatives! I have found out that our Mac Dougalls married in the Church of Ireland. I have the names of (what I assume are) a few of the brothers and sisters in a birthday book, yet I can find nothing about any of them anywhere on the sites I've searched... apart from a couple of confirmed birthdates on the LSD IGI. it's just so frustrating... I've spent so much time following the wrong lines, just keep hoping for a lucky break as there must be someone out there who belongs to that line of Mac Dougalls. thanks again for your reply

I am looking for information on the Mac (Mc) Dougall family whole lived in Omagh and Tyrone during the late 1800 early 1900 period. My great grandmother was Catherine Mac Dougall born 1874/5 she had brothers and sisters including a Robert, John who moved and settle in New Zealand, and a sister Ethel. There was possibly also a Lily or Lilian in the family, as well as other brothers. regards Karen
