Robert Campbell and family (sons, Charles, James, John, Robert, daughtes Mary, Sarah and wife Janet Stuart)reportedly from Tyrone came to America aboutt 1709 and settled in Voluntown Connecticaut by 1714. My wife descends from both John. Her 1st cousin (a CAmpbell) had his DNA tested and is R1A1,[note Argyll is R1B1]. Have connected with three other R1A1 Campbells that descend from Robert. All have done quite alot of searching for documentation of Robert's heritage without success both in Ireland and Scotland.
Suggestions and comments would be appreciated.

Robert, make sure you are in the Ulster Heritage DNA Project, that is the only way I can take a look at your results.  Many Campbell families from Argyll in Ulster, there was a large migration of Highland Scots from Argyll into usually Donegal or Tyrone.  These families came in circa 1500s.  I work a lot with Campbells and their allied families.

Hello,

I'm responding to a message left by Mr. Barry McCain regarding Campbell family information.  I understand that you are familiar with the Campbell's in Donegal.  I am contacting you from America, where one of my Campbell ancestors emigrated.  I'm hoping you can tell me if there was a Peter Joseph Campbell, III, b. 1811, who supposedly came from Drimcoe, Inver. Par. Co., Donegal, Ire.  He left for America between 1851 and 1854.  Any information you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Ive got two novels by Robert Campbell, and tried one of them, but couldnt get into it, because there were so many other books in my collection that I wanted to read instead. Is he a writer worth collecting?
