I am hoping to find other descendants of my (Ulsterman) Hays Clan, who migrated from Bangor, Ulster, Ireland to Augusta, Virginia in 1740.
I am the great-grandson of George Dillard Hays, b. 10 Aug 1872, Ralls, Missouri,
__son of Andrew Collins Hays, b. 11 Apr 1835, Tennessee,
___son of George Campbell Hays, b. 7 Mar 1794, Rockbridge, Virginia,
____son of Charles John Hays, b. 24 Aug 1752, Augusta, Virginia,
_____son of Andrew Hays (an Ulster-Scot), b. 1716, Bangor, Province of Ulster, Ireland
______son of John Hays (abt.1674-1751) & Rebecca (1680-1752)
The later part of John & Rebecca Hay's family history including land deeds, construction of their fulling mill, the first one ever built in Rockbridge Co., and even their last will & testaments are all well documented in the "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia."

Best Regards!
Gene Hays

Hello.  I have been tracing my family tree and have discovered a relative, John Hays, Jr., son of John Hays who immigrated from Ireland to Virginia.  My branch of the family ended up in Kentucky.  My great-grandfather, Franklin Pierce Hayes, (a devout Christian and reformed drinker), changed the spelling to Hayes to avoid association with a Hays relative running for office on the platform of legalizing liquor in the county.  My mother's maiden name was Hayes and although her father did not have any boys my grandfather's brother has a son to carry on our version of the name.  I would love to talk to you about this further and introduce my cousin Lisa who really has done all the grunt work.  My other email is kara.123go@gmail.com if you are interested.  I can then give you a better list of my relatives' backgrounds as I do not have them in front of me.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Kara

Do you have any data connecting Andrew (b.1716, Ulster) or John (b. 1674, Ulster) with either Richard Hayes or Peter Hayes of who lived in Isle of Wight County, VA in the late 1600s and early 1700s?  Do you have any connection to George Hayes, b. early 1700s, probably in Isle of Wight, VA?
Thanks for your time and any help.   Happy Hunting!

Hello, my name is Gena Moore and I too have been researching the Hayes family tree.  My Great Grandmother was Flora Emeline Hayes, daughter of John Newton Hayes, son of John Huston Hayes.  I would love to hear from anyone out there with relevant information and to dig deeper into this lineage.  Thank you!
